In-car Active

Technical Info

General

In-car Active is available in DVD-ROM format for the PC or Mac. In-car Active uses Macromedia Director®, QuickTime(TM) 5 and Pi Research V6 data analysis software. All required players are provided on the disc. Please note that this will not play on home DVD-Video players, PlayStation or X-Box games consoles.

Recommended Minimum Computer Specification

Your computer must be equipped with a DVD-ROM drive. The following specifications are our recommended minimum operating environment, though In-car Active may play to a reasonable standard on lesser specified machines, dependent on your individual set-up and the number of other programmes you may already have installed.

For PC: Windows 2000 Professional, 1GHz Pentium processor, 256Mb RAM, 16Mb graphics card, 512Mb available HDD capacity.
For Mac: OS 9.O, 800 MHz G4 processor, 256Mb RAM, 512Mb available HDD capacity.

Users of Windows ME or 2000 Home Edition please read our FAQ section.

Installation, subsequent use and removal

When you install In-car Active for the first time it will ask for a location on your hard drive to install certain components and files. This is a partial-install designed to improve the perfomance of running multiple QuickTime video clips at the same time. 512Mb available hard disk space is required for set-up - if you need to free this space when not using the programme then you can use the In-car Active uninstaller provided on your start menu at any time. If you opt to do this, you will need to reinstall the files from the DVD-ROM the next time you wish to use In-car Active.

Once In-car Active is installed on your machine, to use it on subsequent occasions ensure the DVD-ROM is in the drive and play the programme from your start menu (PCs) or desktop (Macs). This will start the set-up process then auto-detect that the programme is installed and skip the set-up stages.
